Job description

We’re looking for a Release Engineering Lead who’s passionate about building clean, scalable release processes and automating complexity away. This is a technical product/project management role designed for someone who thrives on bringing structure to software delivery and then scaling themselves out of the day-to-day.

Your initial mission will be to establish a consistent, efficient release management pipeline for ICEYE’s diverse engineering teams. Once that foundation is in place, your scope will grow to cover broader engineering operations and cross-functional project initiatives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

•                processes across cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring predictability, traceability, and automation.

•                Automation & Tooling:

•                Work closely with Developer Enablement and DevOps teams to automate release pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and deployment verification.

•                Project Ownership:

•                Act as a project lead for release management, coordinating timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple engineering and product teams.

•                Operational Stability:

•                Establish metrics, dashboards, and alerts for release quality and frequency. Drive improvements using data-driven decision making.

•                Scale Beyond Releases:

•                After stabilizing the release domain, transition into broader engineering program management—leading high-impact technical initiatives and contributing to long-term organizational strategy.

•                Adept at managing technical stakeholders, coordinating cross-team initiatives, and delivering structured outcomes.

•                Clear, concise communication skills and an ability to lead through influence.

Nice to Have

•                Experience with release engineering in hybrid environments (cloud/on-prem).

•                Background in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering teams.

•                Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Flux CD, or similar technologies.
