Job Overview 

Rightworks Firm Premier is seeking an Internal Security Auditor to support the security and compliance of the Firm Premier network. Reporting to the Cyber Security Director, the Internal Security Auditor will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and supporting internal security systems and processes. The auditor will be responsible for improving the monitoring and visibility of the status of internal systems as well as implementing automation to improve efficiency. The auditor will also assist the Security Team with investigations into security events reported by client firms or by internal systems. 

Candidates should have a genuine interest in cyber security and a basic understanding of the tactics, techniques, and procedures of attackers. This role requires a detail-oriented, critical thinker who can anticipate issues and solve problems. Candidates should have experience with scripting and should be able to build solutions to automate manual processes. 

Work location can be one of the Rightworks offices or remote. On-call availability and occasional work outside core business hours are required. 

Responsibilities

  • Review internal systems for stale accounts, improper permissions, and former-employee accounts. 

  • Review internal system logs to determine whether they are logging correctly, without gaps, and that data can be retrieved as needed. 

  • Review agent deployment for agent-based security systems to verify that agents are deployed correctly to Firm Premier systems. 

  • Remediate problems with audited systems. 

  • Enhance existing logging and reporting methods, tools, and processes. 

  • Evaluate, prioritize, and manage the remediation of vulnerabilities identified in the Firm Premier vulnerability management system. 

  • Produce audit reports. 

  • Automate the detection of deficiencies in the internal systems, including alerting on deficiencies found. 

  • Investigate cyber security incidents and threats. 

  • Maintain knowledge of Firm Premier technologies and the threat landscape. 

  • Assist during non-core business hours during an emergency, critical, or large-scale incident. 

Requirements  

Required 

  • Genuine interest in cyber security 

  • One year or more of experience supporting the Firm Premier network 

  • Understanding of the architecture of the Firm Premier solution 

  • Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python 

  • Understanding of threat concepts across multiple technologies 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 

  • Attention to detail 

Preferred 

  • Two years or more of experience supporting the Firm Premier network 

  • Scripting experience using APIs 

  • Networking experience 

  • Log analysis experience

  • This role is open to US Citizens or permanent residents authorized to work in the United States. Rightworks LLC is unable to offer visa sponsorship.

  • Relocation will not be offered for this position.
