Job Role: Mechanical HVAC Engineer Estimator 

Work Schedule: This is a full-time role Australia Timezone 

Salary range: AUD 1500-2000 / Monthly

Who The Client Is:

Our client is a reputable Queensland-based company specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of commercial HVAC-R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems. 

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical HVAC Engineer Estimator to join a dynamic and growing team providing high-quality HVAC-R and electrical services to commercial and industrial clients across South-East Queensland. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and commercial aspects of project delivery—combining strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to accurately scope, estimate, and tender projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to prepare accurate HVAC system estimates and proposals.
  • Develop detailed mechanical services estimates, including HVAC load calculations, material take-offs, and labour requirements.
  • Prepare and submit tender documentation in line with company standards and project timelines.
  • Work closely with project managers and design engineers to ensure estimates align with project delivery objectives.
  • Track and analyse cost variations and assist in value engineering processes.
  • Support handover from tender to delivery teams, ensuring all project scope and cost details are clearly communicated.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC estimating, preferably within the commercial or industrial sectors.
  • Someone experienced in estimating for an Australian Mechanical/HVAC contracting company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Speaks English well
  • Can read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications well 
  • Has good experience in softwares Simpro & Groundplan, Camel+
