Description

Description and Purpose

Frame and Alignment Body Shop Technician will perform repairs on customer trucks in a timely and proficient manner. Technician will repair medium-duty and class 7 and 8 heavy-duty trucks. Frame Straightening and Alignment Machines will be tools used to complete repairs, returning chassis to safe operating condition. Responsible to inform the Body Shop Foreman or Manager of additional needed repairs to ensure truck repairs are completed to safe operating condition.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain safe working environment and follow safety procedures

Perform frame and alignment corrections

Perform routine inspections, safety inspections on trucks and frame equipment

Repair and/or replace damaged and defective body parts on trucks

Occasionally replace mechanical truck parts

Read and understand written wreck repair estimates

Be able to use problem solving skills when issue arises during repair

Communicate with Body Shop Foreman and Manager on the repair process, keeping supervisors aware of progress and any issues that may arise

Submit required paperwork or documentation to Shop Foreman or Service Manager

Participates in all training programs that are made available

Keeps current on new products that are made available

Keeps current on new products and product updates

Maintains professional appearance

Attend scheduled Body Shop meetings

Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Intermediate to advanced computer skills with fundamental computer operations, spreadsheets, database, and e-mail
