Job description

Overview

Senior Account Executives have all the skills of an account executive, but takes a more active role in campaign strategy, analysis and recommendations. What makes someone an SAE is not just the ability to implement the tools, but select them. Is a speaker program really the right thing for a client? Is it important to coordinate reviews of a product all at once for a big bang, or build momentum over time? You can answer questions like this, express them in a plan, and implement them. You not only execute anticipated needs, but understand the strategic goals that drive those needs for clients. You set the example for junior colleagues, are always prepared, think, dress and act at the professional level you want to be, not where you are. Clients feel good when you provide counsel. You enjoy crushing challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce stylistic and engaging writing across formats. Effectively edit associate, coordinator and account executive writing, and deliver error-free client-ready drafts.
  • Shine as a leader in company brainstorms and discussions, contributing original ideas and collaboratively engaging with teammates to help theirs shine. Draw on examples and experience.
  • Serve as the trusted day-to-day client lead on monthly accounts under five figures. Maintain a steady workflow against agreed-upon plans and organize teams in support of the execution. You know that managing means more than just assigning tasks, and is a combination of delegation and leadership that inspires action with little involvement. Identify interesting new business opportunities. Inspire junior team members to be proactive and perform against client objectives.
  • Provide leadership on common problem-solving and acting as a senior team member to identify problems before they occur. Observing and understanding industry trends for the ideal positioning of clients (corporate, product, and personal).
  • Maintain good relationships with numerous endemic journalists and begin development of relationships with general purpose media. Ensures that media lists are developed on a strong foundation of research, guiding junior team members on execution and engagement.
  • Applies critical thinking to effective communication in both verbal and written form, including daily team and press correspondence. Successfully communicates with team members to maintain direction towards objectives. Demonstrate strategic thought to the outside world, whether through client calls, social media, blog posts, industry events, or other format. Earns the trust of reporters through relevant and reputable exchange.
  • A team leader who is organized and builds trust in all team members through transparent and timely collaboration. A strong sense of the power of a team, while being able to identify and leverage individual team member strengths. Capable of managing both upward to senior staff as well as junior staff, the SAE instills confidence in all staff members and clients, always presenting a unified front that rises and falls together.
  • Consumption of relevant media is a must and is often recited, discussed, and debated through active and regular participation. Read wider: not just blog posts, news, and reviews but longer-form pieces including books written by target journalists and articles that dive into the deeper nature of our industry business (games and media).
  • Begin developing managerial skills and mentorship capabilities rooted in strong experience. Pursue extracurricular activities that advance your professional skill sets, and display continued growth through daily interaction and polished work delivery.
  • Participates heavily in research and development of new business proposals, as well as other strategic insight that develops content for the presentation. Work with team members to contribute thoughtful ideas and a high level plan that meets the prospective clients' needs. Network frequently at industry events and build a strong line of connections that may lead to future business opportunities.
