Job description

Description

Papaya Global is a rapidly growing, award-winning B2B tech unicorn on a mission to revolutionize the payroll and payments industry. With over $400M raised from tier-one investors, our innovative technology offers a comprehensive solution for managing global workforces, spanning everything from hiring and onboarding to paying employees in over 160 countries.

We’re looking for a UX Researcher who’s passionate about understanding user needs to shape meaningful product experiences—and loves translating insights into action. This role is for someone who thrives on collaboration, practicality, and speed, and believes research belongs at the heart of every great product decision.

You’ll partner closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and business teams, conducting research across the product and organization. You’ll help mentor and empower designers to run their own research when needed, scale research practices, and build a strong knowledge base of insights that impact our roadmap.

If you're all about mixed methods, hands-on problem solving, and keeping research lean but powerful, let’s talk.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and run end-to-end research using both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Conduct wide-scope studies across product and business areas (not just feature-level)
  • Mentor designers to conduct research independently offering guidance, tools, and best practices
  • Drive Jobs-to-Be-Done research, persona creation, and user journey mapping
  • Collect insights through interviews, usability testing, surveys, CX reports, behavioral analytics, A/B tests, and competitor analysis
  • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product and design
  • Facilitate workshops to align teams around insights and opportunities
  • Build and maintain a central research knowledge base, accessible across the org

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You’re practical and impact-driven—you get to the insight fast, without compromising quality
  • You know how to match the method to the question, and balance rigor with speed
  • You thrive in cross-functional environments and enjoy being a strategic partner
  • You’re excited about shaping the research culture, not just running studies

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in planning and executing UX research in product companies
  • Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. interviews, usability testing, surveys, A/B testing, analytics)
  • Ability to present findings to a wide range of stakeholders—technical and non-technical
  • Experience guiding others in research (especially designers and PMs)
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and human-centered design principles
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Mixpanel, Pendo, etc..
  • Strong data synthesis and visualization skills

Nice to have

  • Degree in a social/behavioral science field (e.g. Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology)
  • Experience in B2B and fintech environments
  • Experience working with SMBs or Enterprise-level users
