Position Overview

The Manager of Port Operations at Margaritaville at Sea is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all port activities to ensure efficient and smooth operations. This role involves managing relationships with port authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing port logistics to enhance the overall guest experience.


Key Responsibilities

- Oversee turn operations in home ports, including but not limited to:

               - Stevedoring coordination

               - Waste Disposal management

               - Security services, including canine units

               - Check-in agent coordination

               - Equipment rental and staging

               - Marine technical logistics support as required

- Port Agency and coordination in ports of calls

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, vendors, and other stakeholders.

- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely and efficient embarkation and disembarkation processes.

- Monitor and analyze port operations to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic solutions.

- Manage and train port operations staff, ensuring high levels of performance and customer service.

- Prepare and manage budgets for port operations, ensuring cost-effective practices.

- Ensure the safety and security of port operations, implementing necessary protocols and procedures.

- Collaborate with cruise line management to align port operations with overall company goals and objectives.

- Handle any operational issues or emergencies that arise, providing effective solutions and communication.

- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in port operations or maritime logistics.

- Proven experience in managing and leading teams in a port or cruise line environment.

- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with port authorities and regulatory bodies.

- Experience in budget management and cost control within port operations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.

- Ability to analyze and solve complex operational problems.

- Proficiency in using port management software and tools.
