Description

Position Overview: A successful candidate for this role will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships and providing round-the-clock responsiveness to service callouts. This role also involves substantial and routine travel, managing preventive maintenance contracts and acting as the primary customer interface for their designated area, and assuming field service responsibilities when required for direct reports.

Additionally, the candidate will supervise, train, and mentor field service technicians within their region. Their responsibilities encompass the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of a diverse range of mechanical, electrical, and control equipment on both manufactured and packaged systems.

This equipment includes, but is not limited to, pumps, motors, valves, actuators, transmitters, emission monitoring equipment, recorders, and programmable logic controllers (PLC), HMI screens, VFDs, and other control equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct interaction and development of partnerships with key customers.
  • Quick resolution and redirection on field issues as they develop.
  • Perform regular field service work, support troubleshooting, and startup of manufactured equipment.
  • Participate in and recommend product developments for future growth of services offered.
  • Supervision and administrative tasks for hiring, training, safety compliance, deployment, and continued development and mentoring of all direct reports.
  • Review and correction of all tickets and time keeping for direct reports.
  • Developing key relationships with customers on a local and corporate level to gain market share for the region and to strengthen competitive advantage for service, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager so that they have the needed information to drive aftermarket sales and services. 
  • Stay abreast of the competition’s activity to obtain helpful information that would help the sales team (i.e., pricing, products, customers, and changes in personnel).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent military training.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience related to oil and gas operations.
  • Previous relevant field technical experience.
  • Basic understanding of oil and gas production process equipment, fired equipment, including flares/combustors and automation equipment.
  • Understanding and application of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • General electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Instrumentation and combustion systems experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to read, understand, and mark up electrical, mechanical drawings and P&IDs, as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Have a current Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) badge as mandated by the Department of Homeland Security/TSA or ability to obtain one shortly after taking this position.
  • Must be able to respond to service calls and call outs 24/7.
  • 50% overnight travel annually.
  • Work overtime as needed.  Manage your and your team’s overtime so that overtime is billable to a client, or otherwise approved.
  • Take ownership of and oversee preventive maintenance contracts within your designated area, positioning yourself as the primary point of contact for our customers.
  • Assume field service responsibilities on behalf of your direct reports during their absence or when they are unable to fulfill their duties.
  • Strive for consistently high utilization, with an average target of 50% to meet expectation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on industrial, electrical, and electronic equipment including, but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, transmitters, and PLC equipment,
  • Experience with GE, Allen Bradley, or Control Logix Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Experience working in a supervisory or management job position.
  • Direct work experience related to vapor control products and service.
  • Experience in a project management or team management role.

  • Position is 80% outside environment. Worker is subjected to weather elements and must be accustomed to performing tasks in potentially adverse conditions.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.
