JOB SUMMARY:  Associate Director, Business & Finance is responsible for providing support in planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role ensures informed business decision-making by collecting and analyzing financial and operational data, identifying trends, and offering strategic recommendations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Maintain and monitor internal controls and procedures related to AP/AR operations.
  • Research, recommend, and implement finance and accounting software tools to increase automation and efficiency.
  • Lead the integration of new software platforms, including training and change management.
  • Assist in providing insight and analysis of church financial performance and trends including developing and implementing processes and corrective actions.
  • Assist in maintaining internal accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting control best practices for the operation and administration of the business affairs of the church.
  • Collaborate with both internal staff and external vendors to ensure accurate, streamlined, and timely financial functions.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in all regular staff meetings, functions, retreats, training, etc.
  • Support the Senior Pastor and all other church staff.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
  • 3 or more years of experience in finance roles, including direct experience with AP and AR functions.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing finance software or ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Excel and other financial modeling tools.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting. Sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds at times.
