As LiveWire’s sole digital technologist, you’ll be in a pivotal position as the tech expert for digital infrastructure and applications for the entire company. The scope of this exciting role is vast, encompassing systems that support end-consumers, dealers & employees. You’ll set the direction for our website, connected product cloud, mobile app, ecommerce, identity, CRM and analytics domains. You’ll ensure that this entire technology platform cohesively meets the company's user experience and cost requirements.
You’ll align LiveWire’s technology strategy with our ambitious business objectives, acting as the architect that ensures that our people, processes, technology, and information can rapidly adapt to changing business conditions. You’ll own the digital technology roadmap for the company, building the architectural runway by planning the delivery of new (and decommissioning of legacy) capabilities, defining how they integrate, and ensuring that security and cost risks are minimized.
While you will not have direct employee management responsibilities, you will be the primary leader of a crack team of software engineering contractors based in European time zones. You will oversee the work of a digital solutions architect, designing elegant solutions that are then implemented to your specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate and select appropriate software solutions. Suggest integration methods. Prepare proposals, architectural designs and estimates for new systems that favor assembly over bespoke development.
- Oversee and guide the work of contract-based software and cloud engineers. Monitor project implementations to ensure adherence to your proposed architecture and strategic vision. After launch, monitor these systems to ensure they continue to meet both users’ needs and business goals. Keep raising the standards of lean software delivery, driving high availability, high quality, scalable and self-healing systems.
- Have a keen eye toward managing cloud costs, security risks and privacy concerns. Continuously analyze the environment to detect critical deficiencies & cost-saving opportunities, driving improvements. Act as the primary liaison with the Information Security team, employing scanning tools to identify and eliminate threats.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Tech Lead or Solutions Architect. Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of combined experience.
- In-depth understanding of a wide swath of information technologies and trends, including cloud computing, IoT, AI, major line of business applications like CRM, software engineering, digital architecture patterns, DevOps, SRE, ecommerce, digital asset management, analytics, information security, and the collection of related vendors and patterns.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills, with the bravery to push transformational efforts and sufficient influence to drive others to follow.
- Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Able to effectively operate with executives and geographically distributed teams spread across time zones. Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, whether they are employees, contractors, or suppliers.
- Comfort with diverse technologies, such as React, Java, databases (NoSQL, data lakes, SQL), RESTful APIs, iOS & Android apps, MACH architecture, GitHub Actions, middleware, Google Marketing Suite, and MQTT. No coding required, but a deep knowledge of software engineering best practices is a must.
Education Required
- Bachelor or Master degree in relevant studies.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 8 years of Program Management experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of project management tools and principles.
- Experience with MS Project and Jira preferred.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement tools, competencies, and application of the CI competencies to business processes. generating positive business results.
- Demonstrated application of lean product development tools and competencies that have led to the successful creation or change of product development processes.
- Demonstrated leadership; coaching, mentoring, and leading teams in the completion of business objectives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Pay Range: $126,100 - $201,700
The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
