Job description

ROLE PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain key systems involved in our Research & Innovation processes, with a focus on Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. The ideal candidate will provide technical support, ensure system integrity, and facilitate seamless integration of these systems with other enterprise tools. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support users across multiple systems and international sites. 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

System Oversight, Maintenance & Technical Support 

  • Oversee and maintain key systems involved in Research & Innovation processes with a focus on Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. 
  • Manage and configure user accounts, permissions, and roles for employees at all sites. 
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize functionality in collaboration with IT staff. 
  • Ensure compliance against auditability, separation of duties, user access roles & protections in collaboration with our IT security and administration teams. 
  • Collaborate with IT team to coordinate system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing disruptions to laboratory operations. 
  • Ensure data integrity by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving data issues, workflow errors, and system performance concerns. 

2. Business Support 

  • Provide timely response to user needs, including managing user accounts, troubleshooting applications, and programming new report templates. 
  • Provide technical support to users regarding LIMS and PLM functionality, navigation, and troubleshooting. 
  • Develop training materials and resources to educate users on LIMS and PLM functionality and best practices. 
  • Create and maintain documentation, including user guides and tutorials, to support LIMS and PLM users. 
  • Develop reports based on end user and management requirements to enable efficient real-time reporting. 
  • Document user requirements for new LIMS and PLM functionality and coordinate with the respective teams to support all development efforts. 

3. Systems Integration 

  • Maintain the LIMS system integration with other laboratory instruments, software systems, and databases to streamline data transfer and analysis. 
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal business partners to assist with integrations between PLM and LIMS and other enterprise systems to enable end-to-end data connectivity across the organization and ensure data integrity. 
  • Lead cross-support of other global labs implementation of LIMS & PLM implementation. 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Information Technology, or a related field. A chemistry/Engineering background is a plus and recommended. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an analyst/administrator for an electronic lab information management system and/or recipe management system in a life science company. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with SAP/PLM or LabWare preferred. 
  • Business Skills & Knowledge: Analytical Chemistry or related science, Laboratory Workflow, Statistics, & Communication skills. 
  • Strong technical skills in system configuration, user management, and troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent understanding of data integrity, security, and compliance requirements. 
  • Experience with system integration and data connectivity across multiple platforms. 
  • Ability to develop training materials and provide user support. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on knowledge sharing and cross-training to ensure team efficiency. 
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple priorities (multi-task) within a fast-paced environment in a positive and collaborative manner.

When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

 

The pay range for this position is: $89,000 - $119,000.
