Position Overview

 

The Hotel Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of hotel-related products and services. This role supports the guest experience and operational efficiency by aligning supply decisions with quality, budget, and timing goals.

This position collaborates closely with hotel management, procurement, accounting, and vendors to deliver seamless service to our shoreside and shipboard teams.

 


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies in line with company goals and budgets
  • Execute daily procurement activities using the P2P process in compliance with MVAS policies and procedures
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms
  • Monitor market trends and vendor performance to identify savings and process improvements
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, price data, and supplier documentation
  • Partner with hotel operations and department leads to forecast and meet supply needs
  • Conduct inventory audits and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term procurement goals
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and supplier innovations
  • Ensure all purchasing activity complies with legal, ethical, and company standards
  • Report on purchasing metrics, supplier performance, and cost analyses

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the hospitality industry (hotel/cruise experience preferred)
  • Proven success managing vendors and negotiating contracts to improve costs and quality
  • Experience with inventory and procurement systems
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and sourcing best practices
