Our client, a leading Mental Health & Wellness Clinic in Woodbridge, VA, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Part-time Senior Bookkeeper to join their dedicated team. The Senior Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the clinic, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, and providing essential support to management for informed decision-making.
Manage and maintain accurate daily financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Process patient payments, insurance reimbursements, and manage outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collections and accurate billing.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and various financial accounts monthly.
Prepare and process payroll for clinic staff, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (or collaborate with external payroll provider).
Track and manage clinic expenses, ensuring proper categorization and adherence to budget.
Generate comprehensive financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for management review.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing necessary documentation for external accountants.
Ensure strict confidentiality of all financial and patient-related information.
Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Collaborate with clinic management to optimize financial processes and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations relevant to healthcare practices.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead bookkeeping role.
Previous experience in a healthcare, medical, or mental health clinic setting is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Expert proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online).
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
High degree of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial and confidential information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
