What are we looking for?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant/Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day finance operations, including subsidiaries. This role offers exposure to full-spectrum accounting tasks, payroll processing, and internal reporting. You will work under the guidance and review of the Financial Controller and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.
What are you expected to do?
General Accounting & Financial Support
- Record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions (mostly AP)
- Handle day-to-day journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records and journals
- Assist with preparation of end-of-month (EOM) financial reports and reconciliations
- Support year-end financial reconciliations and documentation for the audit process
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets
- Support internal management reporting
- Manage fixed asset register and perform related journal entries
- Perform general ledger and daily bank reconciliations
- Assist with other accounting tasks as needed
Payroll & Compliance
- Process weekly payroll for the Group, including subsidiaries
- Maintain and update employee leave balances and accruals
- Liaise with site managers for live payroll data and timesheets
- Prepare monthly payroll reports for management review and approval
- Submit employee tax, superannuation, and other statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with workcover and employment-related insurance requirements
- Perform GST and payroll tax reconciliations
You’ll be a great fit if:
- You have minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within the Australian market
- You are proficient in bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, and month-end reporting
- You have experience supporting payroll processes, including GST and payroll tax reconciliations
- You demonstrated ability to manage high-volume invoice processing (~50 invoices per week) and conduct weekly payment runs
- You have strong understanding of internal management reporting and reconciliation processes
- You have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You are solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues
We will be absolutely thrilled if you also have the following:
- You have prior experience in the construction, electrical, or project-based industries
- You have understanding of construction business operations, including project-level financial tracking
- You have familiarity with project management or job costing software (e.g., Jonas Premier or similar platforms)
- You have experience working with tier-one construction clients
- You are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

What happens after you submit your application?
The whole process takes around 4 weeks:
- There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
- We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
- If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.
