OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross® has an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to join our IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) Configuration Management team. Reporting to the Team Manager of Configuration Management, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day operations by managing build, deployment, and release processes. You'll also contribute to our growing DevOps practices, helping us enhance and improve operational support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage application deployments: Oversee and execute the deployment of changes across various applications.
  • Design and build automation: Develop and implement automated solutions for deployment processes.
  • Collaborate on deployments: Work closely with application development and infrastructure support teams to deploy both custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf software.
  • Document and operationalize processes: Help document, publish, and implement configuration management processes.
  • Enhance release efficiency: Assist in designing and implementing build tools and scripts to streamline releases.
  • Participate in on-call rotation: Be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide essential support.

 WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of either infrastructure or application development related experience.
  • A strong understanding of release management practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting and PL/SQL.
  • Familiarity with REST API and source code repository solutions, such as GitLab.
  • Knowledge of system and software best practices and methodologies.
  • The ability to plan, organize, analyze, and problem-solve effectively.
  • A collaborative spirit with a strong customer service mindset.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Previous experience with IBM DevOps Build, IBM DevOps Deploy, and IBM DevOps Release is a definite asset.
