Job description

Who You Are

You’re a collaborative professional, driven by the potential to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. The challenges of healthcare don’t deter you—instead, you see them as opportunities to find innovative solutions that benefit the partners, people, and communities we serve. Honest Health’s commitment to purpose, innovation, communities, and kindness resonates with you, inspiring you to bring commitment, creativity, and compassion into your work. You’re ready to join a team focused on reimagining primary care for a healthier future that benefits all.

Does this sound like you? If so, we should talk.

Who We Are

At Honest Health, we believe in purpose and partnership to lead the transformation in primary care. Our team of healthcare experts and clinicians collaborates with a range of stakeholders—from health systems, physician organizations, and payers to providers, practices, and patients — to deliver innovative solutions that elevate care, control costs, and support long-term health. Guided by our core values, we’re creating a value-driven model that creates lasting benefits for everyone, now and into the future.

For us, that's just an Honest day’s work.

Your Role

We are seeking a Manager, IT Quality Assurance (QA) to lead the end-to-end QA strategy and execution across both data engineering pipelines and application engineering platforms. This critical role will ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle—from ingesting and transforming clinical and operational data to delivering reliable, user-friendly applications that support our patients, providers, and care teams.

You will work cross-functionally with data engineering, application development, and product management teams to establish scalable QA practices, define quality benchmarks, and drive continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will span automated testing, data integrity validation, regression testing, and performance benchmarking across systems including our cloud data warehouse, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), APIs, CRM systems, EMR interoperability modules, application databases, serverless applications (AWS Lambda), and front-end platforms (React.js, Node.js).

This is a hands-on leadership role. While you'll set the strategy and lead a team, you will also personally contribute to testing design, automation scripting, regression validation, and defect triage. This will often include data querying, analysis, and SQL code review.

Prior experience in QA automation is mandatory, including designing and maintaining automated tests for both backend and front-end systems. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, API testing, data validation tools, and front-end automation frameworks is expected.

You must also be proficient with Jira and test case management tools (e.g., Zephyr, TestRail), with the ability to manage test plans, track defects, and provide actionable quality insights. Skills in querying database tables, views, and reviewing stored procedures and functions are also required.

Your leadership will be essential in establishing a proactive, scalable, and automation-first QA culture that supports our growth and ensures exceptional product quality in a regulated healthcare environment.

Primary Functions of the Manager, IT Quality Assurance Include:

Quality Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and lead an integrated QA strategy that supports both data and application engineering, aligned with organizational priorities and regulatory needs.
  • Define quality objectives and governance policies for data pipelines, APIs, and UI/UX-driven applications.
  • Lead initiatives to mature our testing frameworks, automation coverage, and CI/CD quality gates for both front-end and back-end components.

Data Platform Quality

  • Define validation rules and automated checks for ETL pipelines, data integrity, schema evolution, and business rules enforcement.
  • Partner with data engineers to implement data validation frameworks, lineage tracing, and automated anomaly detection.
  • Ensure QA alignment with EMR and CRM data integration workflows and interoperability requirements.

Application QA

  • Establish comprehensive test strategies (functional, regression, performance, security) for customer-facing applications.
  • Drive API testing, front-end test automation, and end-to-end scenario validations.
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps practices.

Team Management & Collaboration

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing QA team, with specialists in data testing, automation, and application testing.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, DevOps, product, and compliance teams to ensure quality practices are embedded from design to deployment.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track KPIs for test coverage, defect leakage, release quality, and issue resolution time.
  • Lead retrospectives and quality post-mortems to promote a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement tools for automation, performance testing, and observability. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
