Job description

IEM is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and control systems in North America. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Manager of FinOps and M&A is responsible for overseeing IT financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization, while also leading IT integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions. This role bridges finance and technology to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency across the enterprise.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting in collaboration with IT leadership and finance teams.
  • Monitor IT expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead financial analysis and due diligence for IT components of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Coordinate IT integration planning and execution for acquired entities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Partner with procurement and vendor management teams to evaluate and negotiate IT contracts and licensing agreements.
  • Establish and maintain FinOps practices to track cloud usage, optimize spend, and align costs with business value.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic IT initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in IT financial management, FinOps, or M&A, with a strong understanding of IT operations and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing IT budgets and leading financial planning processes.
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and post-merger integration, particularly in IT environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across departments.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management tools and financial systems

 

JOB LOCATION:

  • The position is fully remote with minimal travel required to IEM facilities or conferences.
