Job Summary
Prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of any size and complexity either directly or through subordinate personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
Four to seven years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction.
Key Skills & Competencies
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication, organizational skills are essential.
Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential.
Job Responsibilities
Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures.
Interface with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
Follow awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
$85,000 - $120,000
Benefits Day 1 - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Basic Life Insurance, Contributory Life Insurance, AD&D Insurance, HSA, FSA, FSA - Dependent Care; Benefits - 1st of the Month - Short Term Disability
