JOB DESCRIPTION

Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist

 

JOB SUMMARY:  The primary focus of the position will be to support the Commercial department of the Bank by providing a “Fast & Reliable Relationship Banking” experience to the Bank’s commercial clients and credit card clients through either proactive or responsive communication & delivery.  To fulfill this duty, individual within this position will be part of a team cross trained to support a large variety of tasks in the Commercial Loan Servicing area. The Commercial Loan Servicing team will have direct internal & external customer support responsibilities, will be boarding and maintaining recently closed commercial loans within the Bank’s core system, as well as boarding and maintaining both commercial and consumer credit cards, maintain & work insurance tracking logs, be part of the escrow process, as well as various other duties. As each member of our team may be specialized in various job duties of our servicing department, the goal will be for our team to be cross trained in all areas of servicing to be able to assist our customers.   

 

JOB DUTIES

  1. Responds to internal and external operation requests via email, phone, or other internal digital methods of communication.
  2. Respond to customer inquiries regarding status of commercial loans, collateral held to support those loans, etc.
  3. Process commercial loan draw or pay down requests.  Seeks approval from Credit Department if loan type & structure necessitates it.
  4. Facilitate the payment on commercial loans (traditional & participation) from either the client or indirectly from the assigned CRM. 
  5. Reviews and approves final real estate title policies.
  6. Monitors and analyzes various insurance reports to maintain proper coverage on all collateralized assets. 
  7. Calculates escrow requirements for new loans, performs annual review of existing accounts, and processes payment of taxes within set guidelines. 
  8. Calculates and prepares payoff statements, verifications, and discharges
  9. Performs duties associated with the bank’s credit card program, including monitoring card stock, hot carding, new card ordering, adding additional signers, limit increases, payment questions & adjustments, etc.
  10. Prepares adverse actions for denied consumer credit card requests; sends to credit applicant as well as long term file storage.
  11. Performs a comprehensive review of post-closing commercial and consumer credit card packages.
  12. Scans all documents related to the commercial and consumer credit card packages after post-closing to our core system.
  13. Upon receipt of closed commercial loan package, the CLSS will board, track any identified exceptions, and image the transaction into the core record keeping systems.  The CLSS will also process the payment of any fees and necessary general ledger transactions.
  14. Performs a wide variety of tasks related to post-close loan servicing of the commercial loan portfolio. 
  15. Will be responsible for the payment of fees and processing of general ledger transactions
  16. Responsible for preparation of various reports as directed by the CLO or other members of management within the Commercial Credit Administration team. 
  17. Processes various system changes and updates as requested.
  18. Performs all governmental reporting on guaranteed loans such as SBA, USDA, MEDC, etc.
  19. Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  20. Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills: Able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.  Possess an aptitude for problem-solving.  Exceptional organizational and time management skills.  Ability to read and understand loan documents.  Proficient computer and Excel skills. 

Experience:     Previous loan servicing or loan operations preferred
