POSITION SUMMARY
To clean and maintain all public areas and restrooms in impeccable condition to achieve the company’s high standards of quality and cleanliness.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Thoroughly clean toilets, sinks, urinals, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, stalls, vents and/or floors with cleaning agents by extending arms overhead, bending and stooping.  Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures and shelves, extending arms overhead, bending and stooping if needed.
Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion.
Clean ashtrays and empty trash
Thoroughly vacuum lobby, hallways and public areas.
Respond in a timely manner to guest requests for items such as towels, irons, pillows, safety instructions, assistance, directions, and/or other information as requested. 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
Respond to guest requests for assistance, direction and other information.
Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous and unsafe conditions to a supervisor or manager.
Turn in all items found in associate’s working area to the property Lost and Found Department.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as cleaning rooms, assisting Room Attendants or cross training when necessary.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop and stand and walk in public areas for extended periods of time.
Ability to push or pull heavy equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing an average of 25-50 pounds.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests.

GROOMING
All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).

OTHER
Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time. Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

The Hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Due to the cyclical nature  of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property. Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
