We do this by uncovering powerful ideas, rallying industry leaders around them, and benchmarking their progress. We deliver unmatched content across digital channels and foster meaningful connections through our live events and peer networks.

We’re seeking innovative thinkers who are motivated to help shape the future of our business. If you're excited about combining a 150-year legacy with a startup mindset, we encourage you to explore opportunities with us.

We’re currently seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of Email Strategy & Growth to lead our enterprise-wide email initiatives.  In this role, the Director will lead the development and execution of a strategic email marketing vision that drives audience acquisition, engagement, and retention across all Arizent business units. This role blends strategic leadership with data-driven decision-making to ensure email efforts align with the company’s broader growth goals. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Director will oversee campaign creation and performance while continuously optimizing processes to achieve measurable impact. Operational tasks will be supported by third-party vendor partnerships, allowing the Director to concentrate on high-impact, strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Email Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive email marketing strategy aligned with audience growth, engagement, and revenue goals.
  • Create and evolve a robust email governance strategy to prioritize sending across various business needs, ensuring audience satisfaction and reducing unsubscribe rates.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for email initiatives and regularly assess performance against these benchmarks.
  • As the email subject matter expert, communicate and plan for implementation of new email trends and tactics to inform a modern approach to email strategy.

Audience Segmentation and Lifecycle Marketing:

  • Leverage advanced segmentation strategies to create tailored and impactful email campaigns that address the needs of various business units.
  • Design and oversee lifecycle marketing initiatives, including onboarding, re-engagement, and retention campaigns.

Support for Cross-Functional Email Programs:

  • Collaborate with the Editorial team to enhance the effectiveness of Editorial Newsletters, ensuring they drive engagement with Arizent’s content.
  • Partner with the Subscriptions Marketing/Sales team to optimize Promotional Emails, increasing subscription sales and retention.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Services group to elevate Demand Generation Emails, ensuring they effectively promote sponsored content like research reports and webinars.
  • Support the Events team in refining Event Emails for prospective attendees, sponsors, and post-event communications, driving event success and audience satisfaction.

Campaign Execution and Optimization:

  • Oversee the creation, scheduling, and deployment of email campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and business objectives.
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize subject lines, content, and design for maximum engagement.

Performance Analysis:

  • Use data analytics to track email performance, identify trends, and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to refine reporting and ensure actionable insights are shared with stakeholders.

Vendor and Resource Management:

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors to streamline operational tasks, such as deliverability optimization and platform troubleshooting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance email infrastructure and tools, working with external partners to implement improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with teams including Data & Analytics, Marketing Services, Editorial, and Events to ensure email marketing supports cross-business objectives.
  • Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness across all email types.
