As the Director, Marketing & Communications, you will serve as a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for elevating the Y’s brand, visibility, and engagement across the region. You will oversee the Association’s marketing strategy, brand identity, public relations, executive and external communications, media relations, social media, content development, and marketing operations. This role will drive integrated, mission-aligned storytelling that amplifies the YMCA’s impact, fosters community connection, and builds broad public awareness.
The salary range for this position is $95,000-120,000 per year.

Scope Of Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing and Brand Leadership:
Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals, brand identity, and audience insights.
Lead brand strategy and positioning across all internal and external channels.
Manage digital marketing, content creation, social media strategy, and advertising campaigns to maximize reach and engagement.
Communications & Public Relations
Serve as the primary contact for all media relations, proactively securing earned media coverage and managing media inquiries and interviews.
Write and distribute key public relations materials including press releases, media alerts, and talking points.
Oversee the development and execution of crisis and issues communication strategies.
Social Media & Digital Content
Guide digital marketing and social media strategy to deepen engagement and grow audiences across platforms.
Use audience segmentation, journey mapping, and performance analytics to optimize content and campaigns.
Drive innovation in storytelling across owned, earned, and shared channels.
Executive & Internal Communications
Support the development of executive-level messaging, speeches, and thought leadership.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging across departments and locations.
Marketing Operations & Analytics
Oversee marketing workflows, calendars, and performance dashboards to ensure efficient execution.
Leverage data and KPIs to inform decision-making, measure outcomes, and refine strategies.
Partner with data teams and leadership to align marketing efforts with organizational priorities.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
Manage a team of communications and marketing professionals.
Collaborate across departments to support programmatic and fundraising goals, amplifying campaigns and community impact.
Minimum And Preferred Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or PR, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing and communications strategies across channels
Strong media relations experience, including serving as spokesperson and managing crisis communications
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and build cross-functional partnerships

Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
