The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and talented co-op student to join our Rail and Transit team starting in Fall 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operational planning and analysis for rail projects, contributing to various phases of the railway infrastructure lifecycle.

What you can expect to do here:

• Assist with railway operations projects, contributing to the development of simulation models
• Conduct simulations to analyze system behaviour, provide insights and recommendations
• Develop tools to automate simulation processes and analyze outputs, improving efficiency and accuracy in model development and validation.
• Assist in creating detailed analysis outputs, technical reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving activities to enhance the overall performance and user experience of our transportation solutions.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and clients in the implementation and application of simulation models
  
  
  

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field).
• Strong background in programming languages such as Python, VBA, or Java.
• Experience with data analysis and simulation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong motivation to build tools for automating processes and analyzing outputs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
