Position Title:Youth Program Specialist II
Program: Career, Opportunities, Readiness and Exploration (CORE)
Hourly Wage: $22.71-$23.00 + $.50 bilingual differential (if applicable)
Nonexempt
FTE: 32 hours/week
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm (subject to change) +potential evenings and weekends events
Location: Dancing Tree Resource Center (10055 E Burnside Portland, OR 97216) and various school sites in Portland. This is an in-person position; work-from-home schedule opportunities vary.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is a member of the Career, Opportunities, Readiness and Exploration (CORE) team at Impact NW. The CORE Afterschool Instructor is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and daily oversight of afterschool career readiness programming in local high schools for youth. Primary responsibilities include outreach and recruitment, class instruction, student tracking, reporting, and outcome attainment. This position supports individuals of all genders, race, ethnicity, and backgrounds.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implementation and facilitation of career readiness curriculum to at-risk high school youth from low-income communities and under supported schools, with real-life work experience and life-long job-readiness skills around career readiness and trade/training pathways and opportunities;
- Career Readiness Curriculum enhancement and development
- Outreach and recruitment of student participants from each partnering High School;
- Deliver trauma-informed, strength-based client services;
- Plan and supervise community volunteering activities and field trips for participants;
- Ensure the delivery of quality client services;
- Build and cultivate trusting relationships with school personnel, and high school aged youth by attending school events for recruitment purposes, partner meetings, staff meetings if they come available.
- Create and maintain positive learning environment for high school aged youth;
- Assist the Program Manager with partner relationships and collaborating organizations, such as schools, businesses, government entities, and other family and youth serving organizations and community groups;
- Contributes to the team by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds;
- Complete accurate, legible and timely documentation and reporting of services delivered in accordance with the agency’s management information system;
- Accurate and timely data collection and entry;
- Track program spending with support from the Program Manager.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Reports to: CORE Program Manager
Qualifications
REQUIREMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements;
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in human services, social work, education, or a related field: preference given to those with experience working with low-income youth and their families;
- Previous experience working with youth 14-18;
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks;
- Ability to engage and collaborate with a broad spectrum of community members;
- Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures;
- Work effectively within a strengths-based service delivery model;
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule;
- Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW;
- Daily travel to local High Schools;
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to get and from office and school sites in a timely manner
