Model and uphold all Agency rules.
2. Identify and develop curriculum suitable for after school and summer programs. Curriculum should be thematic and provide youth with sequential learning experiences.
3. Develop and maintain a relationship with the principal and designated school staff. Ensure school goals and needs are reflected in PAL programming.
4. Create activity plans. Assist Teachers and Activity Specialists with effective delivery of lessons.
5. Work with the Center Director to oversee the implementation of program activities.
6. Using data collected by PAL’s Evaluator, staff reports and schools’ input, foster continuous quality improvement of curriculum and activities.
7. Provide curricula trainings to Group Leaders, Teachers and Activity Specialists.
8. Assist in planning and facilitating Parent Workshops.
9. Present ideas and suggestions for improving programs as often as possible. When presenting a problem or offering constructive criticism, also offer an alternative solution.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Submit weekly, monthly, written and verbal reports as requested.
2. When directed, attend meetings with staff, parents, volunteers and community residents as needed to assist in program delivery and promotion of programs.
3. Assist in the planning, set up and cleanup for PAL special events.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. NYS Teaching Certification preferred. Master’s Degree Preferred.
· At least 2 years’ experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
· Experience in implementing structured programming for elementary or middle school youth. Teaching experience a plus.
· Must be responsible and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be a team player.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
