Position Overview

 

We are seeking an Investigator to examine and assess providers’ compliance related to healthcare legislation. This position conducts research and analysis, pulls information, cites regulations using regulatory language, reviews provider documents, and provides complete written reports of enforcement Investigations of a provider to determine compliance. This opportunity is especially attractive to someone who likes to research legal and regulatory requirements and has an analytical mind. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Requests and reviews providers’ documents to determine compliance with the relevant requirements.
  • Conducts investigations into potential violations by healthcare providers, insurers, or other relevant parties to assess providers’ compliance.
  • Drafts and reviews detailed, substantive investigative reports, complaint summaries, and findings analyses for internal and client review.
  • Collaborates with other departments or agencies involved in healthcare regulation and enforcement of a provider to determine compliance.
  • Prepares reports and provides recommendations based on investigative findings.
  • Assists in the development, review, and ongoing maintenance of project documentation, including User Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and related artifacts based on evolving project or client needs.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior investigators, supporting evidence collection, stakeholder interviews, and data analysis.
  • Facilitates and leads virtual meetings with providers and relevant parties to discuss investigative findings, address documentation requests, and support the resolution process.
  • Conducts regular follow-up and oversight of assigned accounts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and appropriate escalation as needed.
  • Maintains meticulous documentation of investigative activities, case developments, and final outcomes in accordance with organizational standards.
Qualifications

  • US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
  • Must be willing to travel to Washington, D.C. for training as needed
  • Minimum of two (2) years post-education work experience in a corporate environment; Master’s degree in a business or technical field to substitute for 2 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, health administration, business, or a related field, from an accredited college/university
  • Possess a working knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and healthcare industry practices
  • Possess a working knowledge of health insurance cost sharing requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance and/or the ability to quickly learn complex information and apply the information to conducting investigations
  • Detail-oriented and Strong writing skills
  • Self-directed and deadline-driven
  • Flexible and proactive team player
