Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) with headquarters in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Systems Analyst to work across our client organization to deliver FinOps Practitioner solutions aligned with the business capability delivery and focus on providing optimized IT at best value. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of cloud service technologies and will belong to a team that supports opportunities for optimization of cloud services.

The Systems Analyst will be part of the Technology Shared Services (TSS) team with base operations in Bossier City, LA. TSS provides a variety of services to the programs supported by GDIT.   The candidate will deliver FinOps to GDIT program customers. This involves coordinating meetings, identifying and presenting recommendations, building and maintaining dashboards, sending reports, collaboration FinOps personas, to ultimately achieve maximum IT value. This role requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who can take ownership of FinOps initiatives, contribute to strategic discussions, and drive measurable cost efficiencies across cloud environments. The responsibilities of the candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform cost analysis and develop presentations to propose solutions to stakeholders using FinOps practices
  • Develop and maintain a cost showback capability for cloud usage per requirements such as by project, service, and/or line of business
  • Participate in project meetings and perform as the FinOps analyst/practitioner to ensure cost effective solutions
  • Provide input and tracking of cloud costs to the of overall financial budgets, forecasts, and actuals
  • Ensure business value of cloud investments by using best practice and cost management strategies
  • Provide cost estimation, optimization, and ensure accurate cloud billing

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or equivalent training and experience
  • Technical experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience providing customer support
  • 1+ years of direct experience performing FinOps practices, including cost analysis, optimization, and reporting within a cloud environment
  • Solid understanding of Information Technology (IT) service management and how FinOps integrates with IT operations
  • of their billing models and cost management tools

Required Skills:

  • Foundational understanding of cloud services and proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), with specific knowledge of AWS cloud billing tools
  • Familiar with AWS service offerings to include resources supporting networks, compute, storage, databases, containers, etc.
  • Able to lead conversations with distributed teams including technical, finance, executive, business partners, and customers
  • Ability to lead a small team and work solo to perform required tasks
  • Experienced user of common office applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy
  • Professional with strong oral and written communication skills who works well within a team
  • Must possess analytical skills to solve simple to complex problems

Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience with common cloud billing processes and operations practices to include product pricing models, subscriptions, usage, and invoicing
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining cloud cost showback/chargeback models for various organizational units (e.g., project, service, line of business)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain secret clearance
  • Louisiana residency

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
