We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our State of Florida team. This team is dedicated to managing plans offered to Florida state employees, including the Hospital Supplemental plan. The Operations Manager will work closely with an exclusive broker to handle eligibility, claims, and billing for the plan. The manager will need to utilize active management behaviors and various tools to lead the team to be efficient, productive, and offer a best-in-class service experience. What you’ll do:
Manage and oversee the State of Florida team, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
Collaborate with an exclusive broker to manage plan offerings and address any issues related to eligibility, claims, and billing
Maintain a strong client and customer focus, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly
Utilize strong numerical skills to analyze data and make informed decisions
Responsible for the ongoing development of staff, including providing feedback, coaching and performance reviews
Manage tasks and goals through Workday and OMD to ensure consistent development of staff
Travel and attend state benefit fairs to represent the company and provide information about the plans
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, Required, bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred
Must reside in Florida, Required
4 + years of experience managing people; motivating, coaching and developing, others, Managing Vision and Purpose, Dealing with Ambiguity, and Conflict Management required
4 + years of sales experience, providing strong client and customer focus with insurance brokers, preferred
4+ years of experience in a Billing/Receivables operation is preferred (i.e., understand the end-to-end billing cycle from invoice generation through collection and reconciliation of paid versus invoiced)
Insurance license is preferred; candidate must either be licensed already or willing to obtain the license (Life, Health, and Annuity license, often referred to as a 2-15 license), Required
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio), Required
Ability to grasp and present complex financial, accounting, risk assessment and forecasting concepts
Drive for results, effective in dealing with ambiguity, succeeds in resolving conflict, and adjusts to team and organizational chemistry in a virtual setting
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively work with and influence individuals at different levels
Ability to travel as needed, Required
