NeoGenomics is looking for a contingent Senior Sourcing Specialist within the Supply Chain department remotely, who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.

Position Summary

Under limited supervision and direction, the Senior Sourcing Specialist negotiates and acquires materials, scientific equipment, and services to optimally meet the needs of the operations of the business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Source and negotiate competitive cost solutions for individual or RFQ level requests in a timely manner that best supports the core objectives of the company, including quality and delivery requirements.
  • Evaluate company services and quotes to identify the most desirable suppliers.
  • Utilize expertise by providing alternative product solutions or recommendations in competitive situations or when a functional equivalent is permitted.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships and provide insight into supplier performance; work with suppliers to resolve any quality, price, delivery and invoice discrepancies.
  • Lead projects to continue to improve purchase price to meet the organization’s financial goals for existing products and supplier relationships.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships within NeoGenomics to understand current and future business needs on a timely basis.
  • Negotiate deals and contracts with suppliers based on business requirements, including pricing, quantity, and delivery schedules.
  • Improve spend analytics and use data to drive decisions and provide market/competitive feedback while supporting the organization and providing visibility and accessibility to supplier metrics, tools and processes.
  • Develop category strategies and provide strategic insight on supplier risks.
  • Achieves desired level of competency and accuracy for the main department processes and responsibilities of assigned position, as defined in established SOPs
  • Works productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff, including presentations.
  • Adheres to NeoGenomics Laboratories core values, safety, compliance, and Company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by Sourcing Director or Manager.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in business or a related field

OR non-degreed candidates with minimum of >7 years of related experience.

  • 5+ years previous related experience.
  • Experience in Indirect Sourcing Categories preferred.
  • Experience in Sourcing IT Categories (software, hardware, cloud services, SaaS agreements) preferred.
  • Prefer experience in biotech/laboratory environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office programs with Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working in an ERP System (ie. Oracle, SAP)
  • Ability to multi-task in a growing, dynamic environment.
  • Thinks creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • The highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard purchasing and negotiating practices, experienced in negotiations and contract terms.
  • Purchasing or supply chain certification preferred.
