Data Analyst/Data Wrangler

About the Role:

The Client's Canada Marketing team is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to play a crucial role in aggregating pet data, consolidating it into actionable formats, and supporting key reporting initiatives. This consultant will be instrumental in transforming raw data into valuable insights that drive marketing strategies and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and consolidate diverse pet data sources into a unified, organized format, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Prepare and transform data for various reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
• Assist the marketing team with recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs, providing clear and concise data insights.
• Work closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales) and other stakeholders to understand prioritized backlog requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Take ownership of data projects from initial requirements gathering through to completion, working independently to deliver results.
• Proactively identify and communicate data quality issues or discrepancies to relevant business teams and vendors, facilitating timely resolution.
• Implement and maintain bare minimum data quality tests to ensure the reliability and accuracy of aggregated data.
• Create clear, comprehensive documentation of data processes, transformations, and methodologies.
• Maintain open and effective communication channels with internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders regarding data structures, requirements, and project status.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• 1-2+ years of professional experience in a data-focused role
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with business users to gather feedback and explain complex data concepts.
• Meticulous attention to detail, with a proven ability to identify and address data issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data-related challenges and discrepancies and establish single source of truth.
• Experience with implementing basic data quality checks and ensuring data integrity.
• Proven track record of creating clear and thorough documentation for data processes.

Good to Have:

• SQL: Proficiency in SQL for querying
