POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be a key member of the business team who helps build the reporting and insights capabilities for Thorne. This includes supporting reporting activities and long-range strategic planning development, as well as providing regular and ad hoc analyses for the Thorne organization. This role will require a passionate, outgoing, and detail-oriented team player. This position will collaborate closely with the finance and accounting team and ensure the accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financials and KPIs. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, FP&A – Corporate Reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job. 

  • Develop and demonstrate a strong understanding of management and external reporting, consolidated planning. 
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and monthly reporting of financial results (i.e., quarterly forecasts, variance analysis of results to quarterly/annual plans, preparation of annual plans, long-range strategic plans). 
  • Build and maintain a tracking system to monitor performance versus plan, forecast and prior year. Run multiple financial models for consolidating financial results and validate data accuracy and integrity. 
  • Perform reporting & analytics related to the following actual and forecasted financial statement areas: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows. 
  • Provide recommendations to enhance the current reporting tools. Work on automation and productivity initiatives related to financial reporting and data harmonization. 
  • Develop reporting solutions that ‘raise the bar’ in terms of analytical insight and user experience.
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis, as needed. 
  • Assist in developing clear, concise, and visually compelling presentations for internal and external audiences. 
  • Translate complex financial data into easy-to-understand visuals, charts, and key takeaways for decision makers. 
  • Conduct formal and informal performance assessments of staff as appropriate, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors and leadership potential, and seek the same for self.
  • Actively participate in required training and development programs and electives as suit one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.

What You Need

  •  Experience and/or Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably in DTC or consumer product environment required. MBA, CPA, CFA, or relevant professional certification is a plus. 
  •  A minimum of 2 – 4 years of progressive financial experience, including planning, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
