E-Commerce Merchandising Manager

Reports To: Director of E-Commerce

Position Overview
Selkirk Sport is seeking a strategic and data-driven E-Commerce Merchandising Manager to elevate our online store experience. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of digital merchandising efforts aimed at improving product discoverability, boosting conversion rates, and increasing average order value (AOV). You'll own product presentation, optimize site experience based on customer behavior insights, and collaborate cross-functionally to align with broader business goals.


Key Responsibilities

1. Product Merchandising & Site Optimization

  • Oversee collection page layouts, category hierarchies, and filtering logic to improve product visibility.

  • Strategically implement upsells, cross-sells, and product bundles to drive AOV.

  • Ensure product detail pages (PDPs) feature compelling, accurate content and high-quality imagery.

  • Monitor top-performing and underperforming SKUs to refine product placement and lifecycle decisions.

2. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Analyze site performance metrics such as conversion rates, bounce rates, and user engagement.

  • Design and execute A/B tests on PDPs, category pages, and call-to-action (CTA) elements.

  • Use heatmaps, session replays, and UX data to identify friction points and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with developers to implement data-informed UX/UI enhancements.

3. Landing Pages & Promotional Campaigns

  • Lead the creation and optimization of landing pages for product launches, seasonal promotions, and content-driven campaigns.

  • Manage homepage banners, weblayers, and promotional modules to maximize engagement.

  • Optimize messaging, CTA placement, and offer structures to increase conversions.

4. Product Discovery & Navigation

  • Enhance search functionality, filters, and navigational tools to support seamless browsing.

  • Curate homepage and collection merchandising based on trends, customer behavior, and product priorities.

5. Personalization & Customer Journey

  • Implement AI-powered product recommendation tools to tailor the shopping experience.

  • Develop merchandising strategies tailored to various customer segments, including both new and returning users.

6. Platform & Tool Management

  • Own the end-to-end Shopify Plus merchandising experience.

  • Leverage analytics platforms like GA4, Triple Whale, and Kno to gain insights and inform strategy.

  • Manage product recommendation engines and personalization technologies.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with advertising and creative teams to ensure site merchandising aligns with top-performing content.

  • Collaborate with customer service to proactively address frequently asked questions (FAQs) and common objections through product development plan (PDP) improvements.

  • E-Commerce Expert: 3+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, CRO, or digital product management.
