Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Residential Real Estate Paralegal to support our legal team in managing all aspects of residential real estate transactions. This remote position is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a solid understanding of real estate law, documentation, and closing procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle multiple tasks with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and organize residential real estate closing documents.
  • Draft and revise contracts, deeds, settlement statements (CDs/ALTA), affidavits, and title-related documentation.
  • Order and review title searches, surveys, payoff statements, and insurance certificates.
  • Coordinate communications and documentation with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, and title companies to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Manage escrow accounts and oversee the disbursement of funds at closing.
  • Ensure compliance with North Carolina state and local real estate laws and regulations.
  • Schedule and monitor critical dates and deadlines throughout the transaction process.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of communications and transaction documents.
  • Provide general administrative support, including file maintenance and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal, specifically in residential transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of title insurance, closing procedures, and real estate documents.
  • Proficiency with real estate software platforms (e.g., Qualia, SoftPro, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Notary Public certification is a plus.
  • May require occasional travel for in-person closings or title office visits.
