Job description

Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides
community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. This position is full-time and is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to raise funds from individual donors with a focus on mid-level and major donors, and shares responsibility with the Chief Development Officer and the board for maintaining important donor relationships.


This position is based in the U.S.

Essential Functions 

  • Lead and execute individual giving strategies to drive revenue growth and meet both annual and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of mid-size and major donors, ensuring personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans that deepen engagement and increase giving.
  • Implement segmentation and strategies to acquire new donors, retain current supporters, and reactivate lapsed donors through tailored outreach.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, programs, and leadership to ensure integrated campaigns, compelling donor communications, and aligned messaging across all channels.
  • Drive the growth of the monthly giving program, identifying acquisition, upgrade, and retention opportunities to build a reliable base of recurring support.
  • Analyze donor data and giving trends to identify key insights, track performance, and inform strategic adjustments that enhance donor engagement and revenue outcomes.
  • Oversee accurate and timely gift processing and donor acknowledgment, ensuring donors are recognized appropriately and stewardship touchpoints are fulfilled.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of donor materials and collateral, including appeals, impact reports, and campaign-specific assets.
  • Support revenue forecasting for the individual giving program and provide regular updates on performance against goals.
  • Provide collaboration with development team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture within the team.
  • Plan and execute donor visits and in-person meetings across the United States, including occasional multi-day travel to key donor location hubs, program sites and/or industry events/conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

  • Education  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Related Experience  3+ years of fundraising experience, with 3+ years of proven experience in individual giving at a mission-driven organization or non-profit. 
  • Special Competencies/Certifications  Excellent written and oral communication skills and confidence working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Confidence working in Salesforce and reporting.. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation The typical starting salary is $45,000-$48,750, based on skills and experience, and up to $52,500 for highly qualified candidates.
