Job description

A quick look at the role

An exciting opportunity to join our Finance Optimisation Team as a Senior Optimisation Analyst supporting strategic projects and key optimisation initiatives. Reporting to the Finance Optimisation Manager, you will play a key role in analysing data and business processes to uncover opportunities for optimisation and automation, while also ensuring accurate preparation of acquired company data for seamless migration into the finance system.  This role is ideally suited to a logical, analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful individual with strong problem-solving abilities, seeking a progressive career in data analysis and/or project management.

Your core responsibilities

  • Strategically analyse business processes, workflows, and data sets to identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, and efficiency improvements
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and gather requirements for process enhancements.
  • Being part of Biffa’s large-scale integration projects for finance and procurement, fulfilling various roles such as delivery consultant and subject matter expert (SME).
  • Manage the preparation, cleansing and validation of data for migration cycles, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during system implementations or upgrades.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis, helping drive evidence-based decisions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to track the success of optimisation initiatives and identify further improvement areas.
  • Work closely with the Finance Teams on all phases of project activity; communicating, planning, co-ordinating and delivering effectively and on time.
  • Drive the implementation and testing of automation tools and technology solutions, working closely with IT and project teams.
  • Provide high-level analytical support across various projects, supporting the Finance Optimisation Manager with ad-hoc business requests and enquiries.

  • Confident with all Microsoft applications including advanced EXcel and Power BI
  • Proficiency in analysing, summarising and presenting data
  • Desire to continual improve knowledge on automation tools and technologies
