Areas Of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Admissions Officer (Director of Admitting) with broad scope for the exercise of independent, initiative and judgment, is responsible for an array of duties and responsibilities, which include but are not limited to the following:
Admission Office
Emergency Department Registration
Patient Property Office
Information Desk
Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of Admitting, Emergency Registrations, Scheduled Admissions, Property Office, Patient Information Desk and the clerical support functions for the Emergency Department.
Responsible for the performance of all admissions functions including liaison between the Admissions Office and the Medical-Surgical staff; liaison with the hospital support including Medical Records, Housekeeping, Dietary and Nursing relating to the scheduling of admissions, bed availability and utilization.
Establishes operational goals, record management and forms control and informational programs.
Responsible for the prompt and accurate completion of all admission and preadmission forms.
Supervises collection of data on condition and status of patients.
Maintains patient roster and control of visitors.
Direct administrative and clerical functions relating to processing of patient registration.
Makes recommendations regarding modifications and improvement of systems.
Responsible for census control involving the compiling and maintenance of accurate patient census, bed availability and collection of all related statistics.
Directs the administrative processing of inter and intra hospital transfers.
Plans, assigns and reviews work of subordinates and is responsible for a satisfactory completion of assigned activities.
Prepares work schedules and ensures compliance with procedures and policies.
Fosters an environment of staff/patient safety by ensuring staff competencies and reducing risk points.
Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
Other projects as needed by the department or the facility.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline with an emphasis on accounting and financial systems; and two (2) years of responsible-level experience in fiscal management or administration with an emphasis on financial
systems, management information and controls, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity; or
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above; and three(3)years of experience, as described in “1” above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity.
