Job description

Our client, one of the most sophisticated law firms in the United States, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to assist attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process, from discovery through trial and appeals. This is a temp-to-perm role.

Job Function

  • Case Management & Organization: Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files, dockets, calendars, and tickler systems to ensure deadlines, filings, and case developments are tracked and communicated accurately.
  • Court Filings & Procedural Compliance: Handle all court filings, service of process, and related procedural requirements to ensure compliance with court rules and timely submissions.
  • Trial & Arbitration Support: Provide end-to-end support for trials and arbitrations, including exhibit tracking, logistics coordination, and collaboration with vendors, witnesses, court personnel, and attorneys.
  • Legal Research & Document Preparation: Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other tools; assist with drafting discovery documents, pleadings, and court filings; and ensure accuracy through cite-checking, proofreading, and proper formatting.
  • Document Management & Production: Collaborate with Practice Support and attorneys on document collection, review, and production; prepare fact chronologies, privilege logs, redaction logs, and production tracking.
  • Proactive Communication: Consistently monitor email and case-related communications when out of office to stay informed of assignments, deadlines, and attorney needs.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4 years of experience working as a paralegal in a large law firm.
  • Extensive knowledge of New York and New Jersey federal, state, and local court rules, procedures, and practices.
  • Experience with calendaring or docketing systems, such as BEC Legal.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Court Filing (ECF) rules and practices.
  • Advanced understanding of discovery and trial applications, such as Relativity, Trial Director, etc.) and how to use them to effectively support litigation.
