We are committed to providing our Co-ops/Interns with a student experience that provides a supportive and engaging learning environment while developing skills and business acumen. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences including our Corporate Speaker Series, Fireside Chats, Volunteer opportunities and Networking events.

Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.

Based in Vancouver, the Co-op/Intern, Investment Accounting will report to the Manager and assist in the accounting and reporting functions with the opportunity to participate in data analytics and the audit process. The Co-op/Intern will begin with basic entry level reconciliations and increase to a compilation of reports following comprehensive training and additional experience.

What You Will Experience

  • Journal entry preparation, processing, and filing
  • Assist with monthly filing of commodity & parking taxes and other regulatory filings
  • Prepare wire payment requests to fulfill capital funding requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for the year-end audit process
  • Processing portfolio invoices - ensuring proper coding into the accounting system and timely payment
  • Exposure to financial systems and data analytics
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and other duties as required

What You Will Bring

  • Currently enrolled in an academic Business/Commerce program with a specialization in Finance or Accounting.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, including familiarity with Pivot Tables and V-lookup. Familiarity with Power Query and Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Previous accounting or finance experience is preferred.

The expected hourly range for this role is $23 to $25.
