Position Summary:

The Director, Airport & Commercial Real Estate is a pivotal role within our Commercial Leadership team. Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial Development, this position will spearhead the development and execution of our commercial real estate strategy, driving maximum revenue, efficiency, and effectiveness from our land and real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in real estate development, portfolio management, and team leadership.

As Director, Airport & Commercial Real Estate, you will:


  • Develop and implement the commercial real estate strategy, for the GTAA and Subsidiary real estate holdings on a near and mid-term basis, ensuring alignment to the organizations long-term planning vision
  • Oversee the strategic, sustainable, and healthy growth of GTAA’s Real Estate revenue, and responsible for all aspects of its growth, development, build and negotiation
  • Identify and assess opportunities to maximize portfolio value and enterprise objectives
  • Oversee enterprise processes and documentation to support tenant and enterprise workflow
  • Lead robust acquisition and disposition processes, including due diligence, stakeholder management, and deal closure
  • Accountable for overall P&L, KPI target setting and achievement, budgeting, and revenue forecasting
  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans, providing P&L oversight and financial analysis
  • Introduce and leverage enhanced capabilities in data analytics and technology systems to address strategic and operational business opportunities, drive team and enterprise process efficiencies, and generate insights that inform meaningful action
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tenants, operators, government agencies, and industry professionals
  • Model the GTAA leadership behaviours to support and further the business’ vision through building and development of diverse, multi-skilled team


This is a chance to be on the frontline of history at Toronto Pearson. To do so, you will bring:


  • Post-Secondary degree in Real Estate, Business Management and/or equivalent education and work experience
  • 10 years’ experience in a commercial real estate environment or similar with demonstrated experience in serving a large and complex customer base
  • 10 years’ experience in real estate management and development, inclusive of experience in directly managing new business development and acquisition/expansion programs
  • 7 years’ experience in People Management directly or indirectly through cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance

  • Excellent ability to manage deadlines with conflicting priorities and timelines
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve outstanding results
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
