Supports the strategic advancement of post graduate critical care nursing certificate programs to support continuing education and workforce pathways
Contributes to other continuing education initiatives involving post graduate sponsorships/certificate programs
Applies best practices in education and explores the role of tools and technology with respect to educational outcomes
Makes recommendations to ensure program quality (e.g. models for funding, education, cohort timing logistics etc.)
Explores opportunities to optimize academic partnerships in service of efficiency, sustainability, organizational customization, and learner and teacher experience
Acts as a point of contact/liaison with academic partners and collaborates with Nursing Education to navigate logistical and learner related issues, escalating within Sunnybrook as appropriate
Supports continuous quality improvement, and alignment of academic program content to meet Sunnybrook’s needs
Facilitates positive teacher and learner experiences through: optimizing faculty development and mentorship, facilitating transitions into and out of certificate programs, and supporting teacher recognition
Receives feedback from learners/teachers/program & unit based content/subject matter experts, and collaborates to support improvements/adjustments for subsequent cohorts
Collaborates closely with Human Resources Department to align sponsorship opportunities with recruitment and retention initiatives
Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure an effective process for learner access, training and corporate aspects of orientation
Liaises and exchanges information regularly with leaders such as: Operations directors, Patient Care Managers, Advanced Practices Nurses/Clinical Educators
Provides regular status updates to appropriate committees and other relevant stakeholders
Participates as a member of the Nursing Leadership Team and attends key committees (e.g. Sunnybrook Education Advisory Council, Student Experience Committee)
Participates in research/academic scholarship including disseminating outcomes and knowledge internally & externally (e.g. presentations, publications)

Qualifications/Skills
Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Critical care experience and familiarity with advanced continuing education programs/models such as the critical care certificate program strongly preferred
Masters degree preferred
Education/adult learning certificate program preferred (Educator Development Program, etc.)
Leadership experience preferred (e.g. team leader, mentor, unit/program initiatives)
Preceptor or Clinical Facilitator experience required
Excellent communication, problem solving & time management skills required

The Project Manager will join the Nursing Education team and report to the Director of Interprofessional & Academic Education. They will facilitate a standardized approach to post graduate critical care nursing certificate programs, and will contribute to continuing education initiatives involving post graduate sponsorships/certificate programs. They will optimize the education model to provide an effective, efficient, and sustainable approach that is both strategic and data driven. Additional areas of focus include optimizing the learning environment, enhancing the success of learners, and attending to the needs of the staff involved in teaching.
Responsibilities Include
