AtkinsRéalis is a key delivery partner for the airports and aviation sector. As a result of our success, we are hiring for a Capital Projects Energy Support Manager to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects within the organization, ensuring that they are executed according to scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and risk management protocols. The incumbents require a wealth of experience in managing large infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of international airport development or other similar complex programs.

This role will be based on site in Toronto, ON.

Your Role Within The Team

• Provides advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve the overall clean energy objectives of the programs.
• Evaluation and identification of best alternatives (e.g. power purchase agreement, direct purchase, joint venture agreements, etc.) for clean energy.
• Support development of the airport energy hub concept and clean energy innovation including further development of hydrogen and Sustainable Aviation Fuel related studies and projects.
• Provides advice for both existing and new assets on optimization of existing utility distribution and optimal use of distribution assets under LIFT
• Analyzes various utility data sources and provides information and reports to other managers and departments regarding potential alternative energy options for power/supply needs.
• Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of the airport staff.

The Ideal Candidate

• Typically, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the engineering, planning or energy related field.
• Experience of delivering energy outcomes in the energy sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset.
• Demonstrable experience in energy and / or utilities planning in relation to large capital initiatives.
• Demonstrable experience in the assessment of distributed generation assets (solar PV, battery energy storage, etc.).
• Demonstrable experience in utility medium voltage system planning including microgrid and SCAD.
• Demonstrable experience with energy codes and standards.
• Recognized degree in related engineering, planning, or energy related field.
