About the team

Within the Core Data Technology group, we support platforms, tooling, and data products, which help enable quality data creation and consumption across Zillow Group.

About the role

Zillow’s GraphQL Platform team has been a foundational catalyst for product development across the enterprise for over 4 years. Operating at the bleeding edge of the GraphQL and Federation specs, we help internal engineers quickly integrate with the data they need to deliver for our customers.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $201,700.00 - $322,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years in a people leadership position

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer

  • Demonstrated ability to foster a higher performing engineering culture within a team, exemplified by: (a) timely, quality, deliverables; (b) reliable operations; and (c) professional growth of teammates

  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, engineering stakeholders, and data scientists

  • Ability to craft strategic product vision and perform moderate program management responsibilities in service of the team’s needs


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Full Stack product development

  • Exposure to GraphQL or the role of “backend-for-frontend” services

  • Understanding of product analytics
