We are seeking a Data Center Technician – Technical IT 1 to support daily hardware operations and infrastructure activities in a data center environment. This is an entry-level, hands-on role focusing on cable management, physical hardware handling, diagnostics, and system monitoring under the guidance of senior technicians. The role is ideal for individuals with basic IT hardware knowledge and a strong interest in data center operations.

Key Responsibilities
Remove and label network cables as part of data center decommissioning tasks.
Run, stage, and label power and networking cables according to instructions.
Assist with equipment preparation, staging, and physical audits of data center assets.
Perform basic hardware startups and shutdowns based on checklists and documented procedures.
Follow guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and equipment replacement or decommissioning.
Perform DBD (Device-Based Decommissioning) removal only – no scanning duties required.
Monitor systems for errors, failures, and respond to alerts accordingly.
Support developers and analysts in testing/debugging new programs when needed.
Use spreadsheet tools and other software to organize data and create reports.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including potential weekends and holidays.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to follow written instructions, manage time independently, and complete physical tasks in a structured environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in computer Programming or related technical training.
0–2 years of relevant experience in IT support or data center operations.
Interest in pursuing a career in IT infrastructure, hardware support, or networking.
