Purpose and Scope

You will work collaboratively with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to set up, develop, and maintain critical back-end integrations for the data and analytics platform that allows users to access data catalogs, request compute resources, and manage data access controls for an enterprise data and analytics platform. 


Responsibilities:

  

  •  Working with end users to help educate them in Apache Spark processing utilizing SQL, Python, and/or R programming languages within Databricks
  •  Coordinating with a team of data engineers and data scientists to perform data extraction and transformations connecting to third-party data sources via APIs or tools like Kafka or Kinesis to set up automated data pipelines
  •  Write unit, functional and integration tests for a variety of data processing code
  •  Develop and deliver technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • ·Comprehension of the latest technology trends, developments and best practices to define new process improvement opportunities
  • ·Ensuring successful completion of work and timeliness of deliverables
  • ·Providing status updates to senior members of the team and working with management to identify and prioritize business needs
Requirements

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics, business analytics or related field
  • 7 years of experience in software development, data pipelines, data modeling, data profiling, data research, and data management
  • Extensive experience working with data in SQL, Python, and/or R·Experience and understanding of Apache Spark and large-scale data processing using PySpark and/or Sparklyr
  • Experience with Github and Github Actions using test-driven development
  •  Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Desire to dig in, learn and contribute to new challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data 
  •  Experience and understanding of Databricks
  • Experience with AWS


Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager.

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.

Salary Description
$127,300.00 - $135,000.00 per year
