Job Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, the Sr. Manager of Strategic Partnerships will lead the commercial strategy for engaging and partnering with data center customers, driving Longroad’s growth in this key market. This role will focus on identifying and executing opportunities that create value through strategic partnerships, power procurement agreements, and co-location opportunities. Success in this position will be defined by the ability to develop new commercial relationships, structure agreements, and contribute to Longroad’s expansion in the data center sector. Moderate travel (~30%) is required. Role is remote.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive Longroad’s presence and opportunities in the growing data center market.
  • Conduct market research to assess fundamentals, risks, trends, and opportunities at the intersection of data centers and the power sector.
  • Build relationships with data center owners and developers to identify collaboration opportunities and structure commercial agreements (e.g., PPAs, Joint Ventures, Development Services Agreements).
  • Lead or support Longroad’s site selection efforts for data center co-location, including evaluating existing sites, greenfield opportunities, and M&A transactions.
  • Monitor policies affecting data center load demand across multiple markets.
  • Track utility tariffs, rate structures, and load interconnection processes while working with utilities on co-location projects.
  • Lead engagement with economic development agencies to maximize co-location site opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, consultants, and experts across origination, legal, interconnection, permitting, construction, government affairs, engineering, and finance.
  • Represent Longroad at industry conferences, meetings, and site visits.
  • Support additional origination and commercial initiatives as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least five years of experience in data center and/or renewable energy development, origination, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the data center market, including client needs, site selection factors, energy procurement strategies, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written (e.g., presentations, plans) and verbal (e.g., engaging with executives, customers, and partners).
  • Alignment with Longroad’s SHINE values, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and strong judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively in a dynamic environment.
