We are currently seeking an experienced Interim CDI Manager to join our team to work remotely from a home office for an interim assignment.

 

The CDI (Clinical Documentation Improvement) Manager oversees the supervision of CDI staff, establishing and maintaining metrics and performance goals, collaborating with clinicians and coders, and developing policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establish work assignments, priorities and focus.
  • Supervision of CDI staff including training, mentoring and evaluation of performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining program metrics and performance goals.
  • Institute process improvement and leading CDI practices.
  • Develop/maintain CDI policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with coding teams and provide case reconciliation between CDI staff and coding staff.
  • Assist department staff with professional development and continuing education.
  • Provide physician and staff education as needed.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a clinical background with a thorough knowledge of official medical coding guidelines, CMS, and private payer regulations related to the Inpatient Prospective Payment System and experience performing second level reviews. Additional qualifications include:

 

  • CCDS or CDIP certification required
  • RN certification (preferred but not require)
  • CDI Supervisory or Management experience required
  • Prior experience as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist
  • The ability to communicate with physicians and hospital staff in a collaborative manner to promote appropriate clinical documentation and quality improvement is a must.
  • The ability to work remotely from a home office.
