As the Director, Experience Strategy, you will be a key leader within Merkle’s strategic marketing team, responsible for guiding clients through transformative customer experience strategies. You will oversee 1–2 major accounts, aligning closely with client stakeholders to ensure that all marketing programs are strategically sound and aligned with business objectives. 

 
This role sits at the intersection of business consulting, transformational strategy, and CRM. You will lead the vision for client relationships, define go-to-market strategies, and develop roadmaps that integrate creative and analytical thinking to drive measurable results. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic, omni-channel marketing plans across digital channels (including email, SMS, website, app, push). Expertise in content and UX. 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in digital marketing, CRM, and customer experience management (CXM). 

  • Translate emerging marketing trends and technologies into actionable strategies for clients. 

  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders. 

  • Ensure delivery of meaningful client value through innovative thinking, best practices, and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Lead strategists and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work on time. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams (account management, creative, analytics, operations) and partner agencies to ensure feasibility and alignment of strategic plans. 

  • Identify and track key performance indicators to demonstrate the impact of strategic initiatives. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

  • 8–12 years of experience in data-driven marketing, with a focus on using data to drive results across digital channels. 

  • 3–5+ years of experience in an agency or consulting environment. 

  • Proven ability to develop and sell strategic marketing solutions. 

  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using data and research to inform decisions. 

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and marketing research tools. 

  • Excellent storytelling, presentation, and client-facing communication skills. 

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights. 

    Comfortable working in a matrixed organization with a high degree of autonomy. 

  • Experience across multiple verticals such as Insurance, Financial Services, Health, Pharma, Automotive, Travel, B2B, and High Tech. 

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000-$182,850. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
