Brand Manager, Equity
Reporting to the Director of Equity and Communications, this role specializes in analyzing brand performance, market trends, competitor activities, and media to shape effective brand strategies. The Brand Manager will also lead packaging design optimizations and oversee the marketing A&C budget to ensure financial alignment with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
30%: Packaging Design / Visual Identity Refresh – Serve as the marketing lead on packaging design projects that enhance brand equity, from ideation to launch. Brief the Creative team and external agencies on design requirements, utilizing defined RAPID roles to manage the process and secure necessary feedback and approvals. Leverage consumer testing to validate designs as needed and collaborate with legal and regulatory to ensure compliancy. Maintain strong collaboration with PCM through regular project touchpoints, ensuring that marketing milestones are achieved on schedule.
25%: Awareness Media Performance – Optimize our paid media strategy through continuous performance monitoring and actionable improvement recommendations addressing performance lags and creative fatigue. Manage brand inputs in the media trafficking document, collaborating with the Social Media Manager and Influencer Manager to refresh creative assets and leading copywriting initiatives. Maintain a strong understanding of media best practices, analyze competitive trends, and organize learning sessions with media partners in collaboration with our media agency.
25%: Strategic Analytics – Serve as the marketing expert on brand, competition, category, and consumer insights by (1) conducting regular analyses and synthesizing key findings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and (2) creating a suite of user-friendly reports for the broader marketing team. Lead consumption inputs for marketing department. Oversee KPI & ROI reporting across the paid, owned, and earned media ecosystem, collaborating with marketing peers for input and distributing quarterly KPI reports to the marketing organization.
20%: Budget – Oversee marketing A&C budget tracker, inclusive of tracking and reconciling monthly budgets to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support annual planning & JF/SF rephasing by proactively communicating milestones and deliverables to key stakeholders, facilitating timely task completion. Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners in finance and marketing, elevating issues and proposing recommendations as needed.
Key Competencies:
Strong grasp of brand architecture and portfolio management.
Demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of data synthesis.
Strong understanding of the paid media landscape.
Excellent working knowledge of the competitive landscape, especially small to mid-scale food CPG brands
Exceptional collaborator with a keen sense of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role will oversee key agency partnerships.
Exceptional aesthetic judgment with a strong attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to adapt and pivot swiftly
Master of multitasking with a keen sense of organization
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field such Marketing, PR, Advertising. Passion for CPG industry.
5+ years of brand marketing experience in food, beverage, beauty, or health & wellness brands
Excellent understanding of a brand’s equity ecosystem, and how all the touchpoints work together to drive awareness; previous experience contributing to paid media plans
Knowledge and experience of managing a P&L
Experience managing packaging design, inclusive of strong project management
Experience managing paid media initiatives, inclusive of tactically executing media plans
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel

The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
