Job Description
The Technical Product Owner II represents the product stakeholders to the engineering and architecture teams. This involves managing the product backlog and prioritization of work items and determining the overall direction of the product in alignment with the Product Manager and additional stakeholders. They also maximize product value, utilize strong communication and influencing skills with internal stakeholders and our customers, provide training, participate in implementations, and conduct product demonstrations.
- Transform Vision into Reality: Translate business strategies, product visions, and goals into clear, prioritized technical roadmaps and requirements that drive meaningful outcomes.
- Be the Key Connector: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards the same objectives.
- Communicate with Clarity: Clearly convey the product vision and goals to technical teams, ensuring that development efforts are value-driven and meet the product's goals.
- Collaborate and Prioritize: Work closely with stakeholders to set priorities and refine the product backlog, turning epics and features into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Lead Transformation Efforts: Guide the team through technology transformations, including the creation of microservices and APIs for Cloud migration initiatives.
- Keep Stakeholders Engaged: Regularly update stakeholders and leaders on progress, escalating risks when necessary to ensure project success.
- Customer Engagement: Attend customer meetings to understand their needs and collaborate on creating products that deliver real value, in partnership with the Product Manager.
- Mentor and Energize: Provide informal mentorship to less experienced Product Owners and motivate your team to achieve their goals with enthusiasm.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.
At least four years of relevant experience, including two years with SDLC/Agile development, two years with roadmap management systems, and experience working with large development teams and APIs/web service technologies. A college or university degree or equivalent experience is required. SAFe, Product Manager/Product Owner (e.g., Pragmatic Certified, CPO, CSPO, PSPO), and Cloud certifications (Microsoft Azure preferred).
