More about the role
This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Supplier Quality Engineer with Signify in Vietnam.
You will be responsible for:
Operational
- Implements supplier quality, and sustainability and supplier development processes where applicable.
- Sets supplier quality requirements to suppliers and products.
- (Leads and (co-)) decides on qualification of suppliers based on their competences and competitiveness during qualification audits.
- Drives early supplier engagement in the NPI process, validates and (dis)approves release of components, assemblies, and processes at suppliers.
- Owns the PPAP process.
- Implements supplier development initiatives and ensures a safe working environment for all people.
- Reports on performance, supports business reviews at suppliers.
- Controls and (dis)approves changes of products and processes at suppliers using industry standard practices.
- Engages suppliers in the Signify’s Sustainability Programs such as Hazard Substance Compliancy, Carbon Disclosure, SSD and Conflict Minerals and responsible for their continuous compliance.
Financial
- Compiles all data and prepares the rationale/case to ensure complete cost recovery in case of incidents.
- Supports the supplier development team in the identification of savings and responsible for implementation of the identified savings.
- Responsible for all quality related elements in supplier contracts, thus enabling cost of non-quality recovery.
Customer
- Works closely with suppliers to prevent quality incidents.
- Accountable for quick but complete resolution of complaints and (dis)approval closure of complaints.
More about you

- BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Experience preferably from Lighting or similar industry – Electrical, Electronic Appliance, Automobile
- Effectively implements all relevant supplier quality processes and tools.
- Is able to effectively manage risks with a differentiated approach.
- Can train SQ tools to suppliers.
- Has strong understanding of relevant commodity technology and business domains.
- Is able to determine supplier technical capabilities based on this knowledge and effectively apply knowledge to resolve customer and production issues.
- Understands sustainability and regulatory requirements and can apply them to ensure continuous compliance.
- Can define and implement improvement programs for suppliers.
- Understands financial implications of solutions and requirement.
- English, Vietnamese and Chinese language skills required.
